Gifted and Talented Education PLD, Helping Gifted Learners Soar: Kia Rewa ki Runga, is designed to raise the achievement of all gifted learners, with a particular focus on gifted Māori and Pasifika students, gifted students with special education needs, gifted students who are underachieving in the regular school system and gifted students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Facilitators will work in partnership with identified schools to co-construct, implement and evaluate culturally appropriate and responsive PLD programmes to provide effectively for gifted and talented students. Differentiated learning programmes will utilise current effective teaching and learning approaches, tools and strategies.

A major emphasis will be to support classroom teachers to identify and cater appropriately for gifted and talented learners as mandated in National Administration Guideline 1(c)iii.
