Personal statement

Tēnā koutou katoa. I have a passion for te reo and tikanga Māori, and believe they are the key to creating a school culture that can improve the performance and achievement of Māori students. I am interested in the research available that supports this kaupapa. I also believe in the Māori concept of reciprocal learning, that is, “Ako” and “Tuakana/Teina”. I think it is essential to cover a range of teaching and learning styles when delivering programmes or lessons.
