The CORE Education Charitable Trust is responsible for the following charitable purpose in advancing education within New Zealand:
a) Researching, applying and disseminating the benefits of new learning technologies;
b) Developing innovative, creative and effective learning environments;
c) Promoting the importance of research;
d) Assisting educational institutions and teachers to obtain better classroom resources; and
e) Assisting education institutions and teachers to understand technology.
The trust board’s duties are to be guardians of the purpose, to fulfil its charitable duties through donations aligned with the purpose and appoint directors as required. As a not-for-profit organisation the CORE Group provides world-class professional learning and development, research, and thought leadership.

There is one position available for a trustee of the CORE Education Charitable Trust. The initial appointment is for three years with one subsequent renewal for up to six years, commencing January 2018.
The Board meets four times per year – meeting duration 2-3 hours.
The Trust aims to have trustees across a diversity of cultural, gender, technical and generational talent. The focus is on a trust board that can effectively execute its duties of being guardians of the purpose, appoint the directors and fulfil its charitable duties through donations aligned with the purpose. Trustees should have an appropriate understanding of risk and business legal obligations in the context of a charitable organisation.
