Interesting feed from "eSchoolNews Online" this morning titled "smartpaper" tech to transform teaching":

"A new textbook publishing method that uses infrared technology to combine traditional books with digital content might ultimately decrease the cost of textbooks, make them much more interactive for users, and remove barriers for students who have difficulty accessing traditional texts."

There may be some potential here - certainly a step forward in terms of integrating print media with multi-media files, but my concern would rest with the fact that the thinking is centred around the use of a text book as the key resource. (I'm sure my friend Mark Treadwell would be very interested in the reference to polynomials in paragraph 4!!)
I'd be interested to see this sort of thing develop around children's fiction, or encyclopeadic reference books perhaps??
