I am finally able to import movie files from my little sony camera (thanks Tom:-) and now I can start experimenting with how best to upload them to my blog-I shot this little view of a black cab months ago, originally with the aim of showing my brother in NZ what London taxis look like. I now need to figure out how it looks-I’ve reduced the quality quite a lot for those of you not lucky enough to have broadband-does it still look OK?

And Anthony-these are black cabs! Cool ey?

  1. Yep……

I saved the clip to a file on my computer quickly and easily, and I don’t have broadband, so I don’t think you need to reduce the quality too much.

What are the cabbies like? Virginia and I took a cab this year from the airport. The driver (Vincent) had a tenuous grasp of English at best, and didn’t know Wainoni Road, Pages Road, or in which direction New Brighton was (I shit thee not)… After painstakingly directing him all the way home, I halved his fare and he went off his rocker, but continued on his way a poorer, yet hopefully wiser man.

Now, Christchurch isn’t so big. Imagine our man Vincent loose in a city the size of London, driving a black cab. (Having said that, I don’t think it would make much difference what colour the cab was.)
