IMICS Field pathway meeting

Last week I attended the field pathway meeting for APU’s IMICS (Integrated Modular In-service Course Scheme) as a student rep for Ultralab’s online MA programmes. It was great to put faces to names and understand more about the issues involved in running these modules. The most useful outcomes for me were:

  • Meeting Ed Powell who recently approved my dissertation proposal
  • Speaking with Ray Petty of SAPU (Suffolk APU) who is doing interesting things with assessment of different media - I hope to visit him soon
  • Hearing how other courses arrange student representation. Ray’s courses have a modular student rep which is a great idea- it may not work with the small Ultralab learning group though.

    3. thank you very much… yes I recognised Jo Boyton… I spoke to her when I had doubts about continuing my degree in Education and career in teaching. I’m so glad I didn’t - and should probably thank Jo for her support and encouragement!

      Also, I know of Alan Bradwell from our days based at the Brentwood campus.
