Another huge sky
September 22nd, 2006 by gina.revill
Yesterday - waking up out of sorts - a challenge from Steve with a smile - an orange ukulele - a coffee in the cafe on the hill - and another sky to blast away any residual melancholy.

I remembered Wordsworth’s Romantic concept of a scene of great beauty and delight that returns to cheer you when you are out of sorts.

It’s a shame the poem has been done to death. This morning the words felt fresh and powerful in my head and I recited to myself all the way back down the hill…
For oft when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood
They flash upon the inward eye
Which is the gift of solitude
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Beautiful pictures, Gina. Lovely words, too… you have such good taste when it comes to poetry!
Hope all’s going well for you over in Kiwiland… take care - lots of love

Hi babe,
I really would like to be there and see these amazing skies… I am finding London a bit claustrophobic lately…must be autumm.
Missing you.

“She was the most beautiful cloud that ever passed before the face of a girl”
Seeing the cloud pictures reminded me of this lyric from the mercurial songwriting pen of Mark Eitzel.
