Going Coastal
September 14th, 2007 by gina.revillI travel to ‘The Coast’ regularly to work with schools for the Education for Enterprise project. For my English friends, ‘The Coast’ is the coastal region on the top west side of the South Island. How can I describe it to you?
Wild
Prehistoric forested mountains
Proximate ocean with a hundred moods and colours - I’ve seen silvery mint, turquoise blue, dull flat grey, misty pink
Rural towns with a population smaller than a single London street
Untouched
Hidden
Proud

That picture makes me really homesick. Haven’t seen water over here for months - it doesn’t rain in Australia anymore. The gods have abandoned us. Have to start showering using coca cola…

Oh dear Chris - I didn’t mean to make you sigh! Come and bring that wife of yours over to visit and we will show you the Coast up close
As for you Iggy - pop it may be almost as pretty as you know where but it’s on another scale completely! You can’t see in this picture but the ocean is so much bigger and the mountains dwarf you know where!
And Nyle - training??? I’m not! I’d better start as it’s in 10 weeks!!!!
