New housemate
September 24th, 2007 by gina.revill
Paul moved in officially yesterday. We had to seriously re-think the layout of the tiny lounge to accommodate his enormous speaker and stereo system, the intricate workings of which he explained in detail with a fevered enthusiasm, most likely expecting me to remember accurately after the second fourteen hour day moving and stacking and packing and unpacking. Oh, and a sip or two of single malt out of his grandfather’s decanter. Boys are a strange and wonderful breed and it is strange and wonderful to be sharing a house with one.
Our first day today as official housemates coincides with my big brother’s birthday. I’m not sure if that has any significance but I’m sure he would have appreciated the 16 year old Lagavulin we bought in Scotland in June and the original Rolling Stones album we played on the turntable…

Hey Gina…. that’s fabulous news. I am sure you will be very happy together and perfectly matched after the way you both danced at Nick’s pad in the Marlborough Sounds…!
Remember to take that *special* interest in Paul’s music system. Ask him about the size of his subwoofer and what cables he uses for his interconnects. All important and key questions in any relationship, much like his 4×4 Mitsubishi car really.
You might also ask which knobs you can turn and which ones you shouldn’t….
Seriously tho - continue to have oodles of fun together. Please keep a bed free for me.

Congrats Gina! That’s great. Pass on my congratulations to Paul as well. Can’t wait to visit - got to check out that stereo…
Did you say you were running? I’m doing something most days now, and feeling better for it. I have to prepare for old age to keep up with my boys! It is awful though. I’m telling myself constantly that I love it, and look forward to it, but I only ever really enjoy it once I’ve stopped!
