I met with a web design company today to get a quote to build something unique for us. so ... possibly using Joomla CMS as a back end to the site - and therefore readily customisable too. It is pretty expensive as a one-off but over a potential 5-10 year life of a good site it doesn't sound quite so bad :-) I know a few schools use it but more than that …??

I re-did it from scratch two years ago but am bored with it now. It's just the same as everyone elses & doesn't reflect how we are at Southbridge. I also want it so that the teachers and kids can update their pages directly. I'd like it to be more interactive. I am looking at using Site@School - have you come across it at all? Your thoughts?
