Check out this great class podcast site from Nelson.
Such a great way to share the learning happening in a class with parents and the whole world!
They have been experimenting with skypecasting and lots of other things.

This blog entry has an interesting list of the so called “top movers and shakers” in the world of podcasting.
David Warlick is coming to NZ in February next year and we are organising a full day seminar with him on the 24th in Dunedin
It is interesting to note that two of the top primary educational podcasters in this country - Jane Nicholls and Dorothy Burt - were announced as recipients of 2007 eFellowships this week. Podcasting is getting an increasingly high profile in education in this country!!
Both very deserving recepients, and having worked with Jane at Pine Hill School for a number of years I know first hand what a stunning teacher she is! Well done Jane

This screenshot from my iTunes shows the topics from this Video series. Short, concise and simply put in kid language. They use graphics etc to get the concepts across.
Subscribe through iTunes - I just searched for “ask an astronomer” from the iTunes store.
Thaks to Jocelyn MacKay from Blenheim for this one!

If you subscribe to only a few professional podcasts (well this is actually a video-podcast) then this should be one of them! You are looking at the screen as Danny tells yolu about the web sites, resources adn ideas he uses in his classroom. TILT TV stands for Teachers Improve Learning with Technology.
These videos would be great for staff meetings or other professional development, or even for kids in some sections.
PC based (so some keyboard shortcuts you have to put apple key not cotrol) but powerful to be able to see the desktop when someone is telling you what to do. Some software obviously not able to be used on a Mac either but the concepts nevertheless apply. Audio pretty poor and some visuals are a bit too in the earlier ones but certainly very usable.
From Canada so some differences there too, but as I write this I am watching a Grade 3 classes retell made in Photostory that we have just been walked through how to make.
Most are in the 10-15min timeframe which is good too.
Overall a great resource! Check it out!!

Anne Davis great wiki about educational blogging. It makes a “slideshow” of photos you upload to the site and can be then played through any web page, blog, etc. Derek Wenmoth has one at the top of his blog.
NETA conference Podcasts - I stumbled across this one and have found some really interesting podcasts of their sessions. Well worth a listen …. http://whsblogs.westside66.org/

I got this message the other day from Jane Nicholls a Facilitator in Dunedin - lots of cool stuff here so thanks Jane!
“Hi Greg
This link will take you to a page in podlounge that lists k12 education podcasts. There are podcasts from all over the world including a class in India. Would be quite exciting to share with kids to show that kids all over the world are podcasting, also to see what they are talking about. Imagine a unit on the similarities and differences between cultures based on podcasts!!”
