search inside podcasts
If you have ever wondered how to find that segment of a podcast you once listened to but no long have, then podscope is the answer. Podscope is very cool; it will search for spoken words within any audio or video file. It works just like any other search engine, and when you click on a result, you can select snippets of audio to help you decide whether to listen to the whole podcast.
Because it works on voice recognition (I think) and a prepared list of search terms, some searches produce mysterious or nil results, but they are working on these areas so expect the searching to steadily improve.
A new feature allows listeners to search a particular podcast using Podscope’s spoken-word index. The search feature is attached to the RSS address and seems to work OK.
