webcasting abt webcasting
For those interested in learning about live webcasting and video production tips for web-based streaming video, there are sessions from the Digital Video Expo East 2005 Conference, held July 2005 in New York, online at the Conference Highlights Portal . To quote “This three-day Expo showcased cutting-edge technologies and features seminars on essential topics in production, postproduction, and delivery”.
By registering at the site (easily done) you can access 70 minutes on “What You Need to Know about Live Webcasting” - “Tim Napoleon, of the VitalStream content delivery network, walks you through the all the things you need to know about live webcasting, including how to figure out your audience size properly to save money, which codecs to use to reach the most viewers, intricacies of compression, how to monetize your live events, and much more”.
The other session that I found very useful was Video Production Tips for Webcasting (55 mins); Peter Hackes, president of PQH Productions, the company that shot and produced the webcast portal, discusses tips for video field and post production for webcasting. Nice presentation interface too - give these webcasting workshop sessions a look.
