Mac users are aware that a good deal of multimedia is provided in Windows Media formats - streaming video on a news Web site, downloadable media files… So you install Windows Media Player package. However, while the Mac version of WMP works, it??s certainly not QuickTime player. You can??t scrub video; pausing and resuming playback often results in audio and video being out of sync (or one of the two never actually resuming); and you can??t even have two movies open simultaneously.

Flip 4 Mac allows Mac users to play .wmv and .wma files in their quicktime player. More managable video, making scrubbing through the video as easy as any other quicktime file. To quote from the site again “If you install this program on your Mac, all the video blogs that are distributed in .wmv form will play perfectly. No more waiting for the video to start, and no more usless controls”. Works for me.
