coming of age publication

I can recommend the newly released (free) publication “Coming of Age: An introduction to the NEW worldwide web”. This is a collaborative venture between 14 educators from the USA, Canada, Thailand and the UK. The comprehensive publication (92 pages) aims to “inspire teachers to want to try some of these “new tools” (web 2.0) for themselves and with their classes, and then to provide practical advice and guidance on how to do so.” Numerous topics are covered, with practical suggestions and background information. The authors ask that readers pass these ideas on to teachers and students, but also look at the websites and blogs of the contributors, listed on the website.

The pdf can be downloaded from the Shambles” website. Incidently this website is worth checking out - it’s designed to support the international school communities in South East Asia countries, and has many resources. The web 2.0 resource page alone is worth a visit for anyone exploring emerging web services.

Thanks for this Jedd - looks like an itneresting read. Very appropriate that a book on this topic has been developed and made available in a manner entirely consistent with Web2.0!!
