This must be the most basic interface for a web 2.0 application yet…FlickrLilli is a simple way to search flickr for photos. The tool was developed by Elliot Smith, who wanted to provide a way to search by CreativeCommons license, which is not supported by the default Flickr interface, thereby providing re-usable images.

He says on the about page that Lilli means “Let’s Investigate Lots of Lovely Images. Or something”. You can sort by date or “interestingness” - that’s worth a visit just to figure out the criteria for interestingness - I tried a search by interestingness on “bird flu”… seemed to work I guess.
