new media + conferences
The Beyond Broadcast conference at Harvard has a conference website that is a blog, but a very sophisticated blog, with a fascinating combination of social software tools and well worth checking out for this reason alone. The conference is a gathering of around 300 leading thinkers focused on online social networks, media, journalism and the digital divide; the other reason for checking it out. The participants use of the services make this an active online collection of connections, reflections and expended discussion on session and keynote speakers.
Participants have not only added photos to flickr, but also video clips to blip TV for those who missed attending.
Attendee and educator-bloggerAndy Carvin has posted several blogs on his own site, and has included a podcast of one session.
There’s a website blog entry on how the site works, and related blog entries at delicious are tagged beyondbroadcast.
