del.icio.us as a shared filing system

I had been thinking about this for a while - how to best use del.icio.us as a way of filing articles and resources for a group of educators with a common interest. Individual users can always search by tags relevant to them (or the group), but Stephen Downes pointed out that Scott Wilson has tagged all the personal learning environment (PLE) position papers, posted on the web.

These are papers, not blogs, and are posted to sites all over the place. They could be bookmarked and tagged in numerous ways - but the very specific tag brings them together as a list. An obvious and simple idea. Someone collects URLS of papers, articles and blogs. The groups is notified of the specific tag and there you go. With our own ULearn06 conference coming up in 12 weeks, we will need to confirm appropriate tags and have them published ahead of the conference.
