For students (or teachers) wanting to interview experts for multimedia presentations or podcasts, Skype has been a great solution, with one limitation - no native support for recording voice conversations. However you can easily record Skype calls using third-party add-ons or hardware devices or perhaps with the software that already exists on your computer.
Amit Agarwal in his digital inspiration blog describes a number of ways to record skype calls for windows and on a mac. The Skype calls are recorded to regular audio files like MP3, WAV or Windows Media which can edited and shared with friends like regular media files.
I am using the free new utility of SoliCall (www.solicall.com). It works great with all softphones (including Skype, Google Talk and Yahoo Messenger).
In addition to recording SoliCall reduces background noise (both incoming and outgoing) thus improving the quality of my calls.
