A national professional development hui was held in Wellinton for the Resource Teachers of M??ori and the Resource Teachers of Learning Behaviour on the 23-24th of August. 90 attendees gathered to receive PD in relation to the M??ori medium curriculum draft document for L1-L2 M??ori medium programmes. A great 2 days with lots to think about.

Both groups enjoyed their first national pd session together and worked hard to develop regional pd workshops for their own regional groups and their respective cluster schools. Our thanks to Kiritina Johnstone (MOE) for the invite. Also thanks to Ella Newbold (Team Solutions), and our very own trio from Core Daph, Kathe and H??mi for co-facilitating the 2 days of pd.

What a day!!

4 laptops, 3 people, go figure. this is a moment in time where we had a brainstorm and decided to develop this kaupapa m??ori blog to assist us for. currently the kaupapa m??ori team is:

h??mi (aka harry)
daphne (aka mere)
kathe (aka sally)
naketa (aka gertie)

our collective responsibilities are to ensure that we each contribute and co-construct a blog that will assist each of us and you to highlight kaupapa in the wider ict world that will benefit us all.

When you’re offered breakfast, what better reason does one need to get out of bed and head to Hemi’s!! Tomatoes, bacon, eggs, hash browns, croissants, spaghetti, juice and coffee…………..yumbo!

Add to that, our own dishes washers - well………..stacking the dishwasher kinda counts! Laptops up, phones at the ready and orientation, navigating through some of the online communities, was the key flavouring of the day. An audio conference with Nick - and a quick touch base with Jonathan Furness, added to our day of PD and great dialogue.

Next time though, when I’m needing to do an online tutorial………..I might want to move away from Daph and Hemi whom decided it was a good time to pull faces and try and put me off my stride!! It’s OK you two……………you’ll keep!!

A very productive day, lots of new learning and great company :-)

Nau mai, to our little place in the vast cosmos that is the internet. If you happened upon us by mistake, well done YOU!!! Great to see the universe has pointed you our way. If your here because you were made to/forced to/encouraged to - Big kia ora to you too.
This area was created by a colleague of mine, Harry on behalf of all us (Sally, Mere and Gertie LOL). Its a place for us all to vent, share, bond, connect, create, support etc etc.
Anyway, I was given the privilege of creating the first comment in this blog area. I have successfully written for half of the white dialogue space and managed to yet again say nothing of substance LOL. Thats why its great working with colleagues who are more than capable of picking up where I’m about to leave off…whether they are willing is another story…
