As I lay me down to sleep…
I came across this post at TinyCrumb yesterday. The image was the first thing to capture my interest, initially I assumed they were “Anne Geddes-type” pictures, but when I read on further the following quote prompted me to investigate further…

There’s no detour to their pain. Its going to pierce like a knife, only cutting deeper being preceded by a new life to call their own.
Intrigued, I visited the site “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep”, I was at awe with the magnicficent photography and stories shared. Fortunately, I have never had to feel the immense pain of losing a child, this organisation clearly “brings beauty to bereavement”, here’s their write up of what they do:
Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart. For families overcome by grief and pain, the idea of photographing their baby may not immediately occur to them. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives.
This one is my favourite:

Now this is why I love Digital Photography!!!
Care and Education Celebrations…

The Care and Education centres in the ECE ICT PL Programme in the Auckland clusters had the opportunity to attend a “Celebrations evening”. A wonderful evening with great food and mind, body and soul. We examined successes throughout the year and looked at how current innovations impact on key stakeholders: children, whanau, community, teachers, management and committee and Ministry of Education. Some great discussion occurred and strategies for teachers to use in their own context.
